At the Trumer Taproom, we take pride in brewing traditional-inspired lagers to perfection. Our best recipes sometimes venture beyond the Taproom as Doppelgänger beers.
Why “Doppelgänger”? The Trumer Brewery in Berkeley mirrors its sister Brewery in Austria, but it is free to brew traditional and unique beers like this one.
Doppelgänger is a lager brewed with more hops than a classic pilsner. Our version uses American hops (Citra and Mosaic) for a floral aroma and maintains the clean, crisp finish of a German Lager.

How to enjoy
The Perfect Pour
Hold the glass vertically and pour the beer straight down the middle for 1-2 seconds
Wait for the beer to settle, creating 2 inches of foam
Tilt the glass and continue pouring down the inside of the glass, allowing the foam to rise toward the top of glass
Top off as needed. The foam cap should measure about one and a half inches from the top of the glass
